Compliance, Licensing & Safety

Aerial application is a regulated aviation activity and a regulated chemical activity. We treat both seriously, and we document everything.

Kenya

KCAA & PCPB framework

  • KCAA aircraft registration — heavy industrial category UAS, registered and marked.
  • Remote Operator Certificate — commercial approval covering agricultural application.
  • Remote Pilot Licence — held by every pilot-in-command, with spraying privileges.
  • Aviation medical — current for all pilots-in-command.
  • Third-party aviation liability insurance — certificate supplied to clients on request.
  • PCPB aerial application permit — plus product-by-product registration checks before every job.
  • Airspace authorisation — per-operation clearance near controlled airspace or aerodromes.
Tanzania

TCAA & TPRI framework

  • TCAA registration — heavy commercial UAS registration and operating permits.
  • Ministry of Defence clearance — security clearance for aircraft import and operation.
  • Remote pilot certification — recognised licensing for the pilot-in-command.
  • TPRI compliance — pesticide registration, aerial clearance and drift conditions.
  • Local authority notification — district and village notification where required.
  • Cross-border transit — documentation for aircraft, batteries and chemicals.

Regulation in both jurisdictions is evolving. We verify current requirements before each deployment. Certificate numbers, expiry dates and insurance schedules are shared directly with clients and auditors rather than published — request the compliance pack.

Field discipline

Pre-flight safety audit — signed before wheels-up

No aircraft leaves the ground until your manager and our pilot have walked the block and signed the same sheet. You keep a copy.

Drift management

Droplet spectrum matched to product, flight height held by terrain radar, a hard wind ceiling, downwind buffer strips, and re-sequencing of passes when the breeze turns toward a sensitive neighbour.

Chemical stewardship

Closed transfer where possible, dosage arithmetic verified before mixing, triple-rinse and neutralisation between chemical families, rinsate handled on your approved site, container return per regulator guidance.

Worker & community safety

Re-entry intervals posted in writing at the block, labour cleared before flight, ground observer for bystander control, and advance notice to neighbours, beekeepers and homesteads inside the drift envelope.

Records you receive

Signed intake and safety form, coverage telemetry map, volume and dosage applied, product name and registration number, start and stop times, wind conditions, pilot ID, re-entry and pre-harvest dates.

Audit readiness

Our record pack is built to satisfy major certification and mill agronomy audits, plus buyer due-diligence on export horticulture and specialty coffee and tea.

Incident protocol

Documented procedures for spill containment, drift complaints, forced landings and injury, with immediate client notification, photographic record and regulator reporting where required.

Straight talk on limits

Aerial application is not magic, and we would rather tell you where it does not fit than take a booking we cannot execute well:

  • Wind is absolute. Past our abort threshold we stand down. Rescheduling is free; drifting your chemical onto a neighbour's coffee is not.
  • Low-volume application needs the right product. Some labels demand high water volumes or ground application. We check the label before we quote.
  • Water and access still matter. No clean water within reach means a bowser cost; no vehicle access means lower throughput.
  • Very small, fragmented plots are inefficient. On tiny tree-covered plots a good knapsack team may honestly be the better answer.
  • Heavy rain washes off. We watch the forecast and will move a job rather than waste your chemical.

Compliance Pack

Licence numbers, insurance schedules and our full record templates go straight to your compliance or audit team — not onto a public page.

  • Certificates — operator, pilot and aerial application permits with numbers and validity
  • Insurance schedule — third-party aviation liability cover details
  • Sample record pack — intake form, telemetry report, dosage and interval log
  • Drift & stewardship statement — thresholds, buffers and procedures in full
  • Audit mapping — how our records line up with your certification scheme

Sent to growers, estate managers, mills, outgrower boards and agrodealers. We ask for farm name and acreage so what we send is priced and scoped for your operation — usually back the same working day.

Need our certificates for your audit file?

We will send licence details, insurance and a sample record pack straight to your compliance team.
